Satan Takes Detroit

The local Catholic community has taken a response to this by saying Mass in reparations for all the sins of the world, such as this.  The Mass at Saint Joseph Catholic Church was said in the traditional Latin rite.

Almost everybody knows Satan is the very embodiment of all evil and sin; he is the antithesis of God.  He is the anti-god; he is not God or a god though he claims to be God as he tried to get Jesus to worship him in the desert.  Satan was cast into Hell for rebelling against God and since then has not refrained from leading others into rebellion against God.  This means to disobey His commandments: he wants us to not worship God but instead worship him or other persons and/or things, he wants us to blaspheme God, commit sacrilege, profane the Church, the Sacraments, the angels and saints, he wants us to not observe Sundays and holy days of obligation, go to Confession, or pray.  He wants us to disobey the Magisterium.  He wants us to disobey our family.  He wants us to seek revenge, have abortions, perform abortions or wish evil on others.  He wants us to abuse the gift of sexuality in ways not intended outside of marriage and/or blocking the possibility of creating life.  He wants us to steal, cheat, lie, speak ill of others, hurt them emotionally, covet other people’s belongings, lifestyles or families.

All the sin in the world is because of Satan: even from the secularist perspective, looking at the genocides we know of committed by the Nazis, the Soviet Union or ISIS for example, are as a result of Satan.  This is a reason for Christians to speak against Satanism, the material worship of Satan, the prince of darkness.  Many Satanists might think it’s harmless, maybe just a symbolic rebellion against organized religion, but it’s much for real.  Behind the Halloween-like costumes this cult is based on the worship of the cause of all sin.  Saint Paul mentioned the sacrifices offered to idols and then stated what “the heathens sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God” (cf. 1 Corinthians 10:19-20).

It is true that Satanists are about as various as Christians are, however it should be noted police reports have connected some crimes to Satanic rituals of animal and human sacrifices.  The following video is of Satanists in Mexico offering animal sacrifices but not before torturing the animals.  Viewer discretion advised.

The Satanic ritual is circled around the so-called Black Mass, a corruption of the Holy Mass in our Catholic Church.  Many things are incorporated from Catholicism and distorted in Satanism: e.g. Baptism, Holy Communion, the Holy Bible, the liturgy, priestly vestments and clothing, and the Sign of the Cross.  Satanism thus mocks the Sacraments, namely Baptism and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.  Sometimes Satanists have reportedly stolen consecrated Hosts for sacrilegious purposes.

Make no mistake; the Black Mass is intentionally made to mock the Holy Mass, which is perhaps the worst part of this cult.  We as Catholics must keep praying for these lost souls.  At Baptism, we or our godparents answered that we will renounce Satan and all his works and empty promises.  Every time we cross ourselves with holy water, we recall our baptismal vows, including the renunciation of Satan, his works and empty promises, whilst cleansing ourselves of venial sin.  Leo XIII wrote a prayer to Saint Michael for defense against Satan and his trickeries.

Saint Michael the Archangel,

defend us in battle; be our defense

against the wickedness and snairs of the devil.

May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,

and do thou, o prince of the heavenly hosts,

cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits

who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.  Amen.
