“I saw Satan fall like lightning.” (Luke 10:18) – Painting by Gustav Doré (Paradise Lost)
Feminists are known for making a lot of hype over the Church’s use of masculine pronouns and titles to address God, i.e. “Father”, “Son”, “He”, etc. Yet ironically I haven’t seen any feminist complaints about the use of masculine pronouns and titles to address Satan, i.e. “father of lies”, “he”, etc. Why is that?
Is it perhaps because they only see things sexist when feminine pronouns and titles are not used to address God, but not when masculine pronouns and titles are not used to address Our Lady? Or is it because they only see it sexist when God is granted masculine pronouns and titles to the exclusion of feminine pronouns and titles but not when Satan is addressed with masculine nouns and titles to the exclusion of feminine pronouns and titles? Whatever the case it is very clear the feminists have been pressuring the Church for decades to give in to their self-serving agenda. They have attempted to push the Church to change words in the Nicene Creed and titles used in address to God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, or the all male priesthood, in addition to pushing the Church to condone abortion.
It doesn’t end there either. They also pressure the Church to accept transgenderism, even going as far as to use the passage about there being “neither male nor female” to question gender identity as a mere social construct rather than a biological factor to support transgenderism, the attempted ordination of women and homosexual acts.
