Huffington Post on Islam

A Protestant minister and Huffington Post blogger recently called Christians to accept Muhammad as a prophet and “the Spirit of truth”.

It has been well-established Huffington Post is liberal/progressive bias news run by a lapse Orthodox woman.  Just because many Catholics or Orthodox are liberals/progressives, doesn’t make it okay.  This is a case in point.

First of all, the liberal Protestant minister fails to recognize a spirit has no flesh or bones.  This automatically excludes Muhammad from being the Spirit of truth.  The Spirit Our Lord promised to give His disciples came upon them in the Upper Room that Pentecost; that same Spirit is the Holy Spirit “who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified” as the Nicene Creed says.

Second, how can Christians accept Muhammad as a prophet if he claimed the Gospels were corrupted by charlatans?  Christians are frequently accused of shirk (idolatry) in the Quran for adoring the Son along with the Father.  It even falsely accuses Christians of worshipping the Blessed Virgin Mary.  Muslims are called to fight against “the People of the Book” — Christians and Jews — until we are subjugated, paying the jizyah tax and feeling ourselves subdued (rf. Quran 9:29).

Muhammad is a prophet all right… a false prophet.

From that time to the present a false prophet named Mohammed has appeared in their midst. This man, after having chanced upon the Old and New Testaments and likewise, it seems, having conversed with an Arian monk, devised his own heresy. Then, having insinuated himself into the good graces of the people by a show of seeming piety, he gave out that a certain book had been sent down to him from heaven. He had set down some ridiculous compositions in this book of his and he gave it to them as an object of veneration.”
