Hasn’t Fr. James heard the commandment: You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor?
Let’s go through what I mean.
“It’s a group called the traditionalists or the rad trads as they sometimes call themselves.” – No, that’s a term people like Mark Shea and you have given them. They might call themselves traditionalists, but I have never heard a single one of them call themselves a “rad trad”.
“The Church Militant is another way of styling that group.” – Actually, the Church militant is a term frequently used throughout the ages to refer to the Church on earth which battles for the salvation of souls against the forces of darkness.
I want to add that we do not know if Steve Bannon is a practicing Catholic or not, so Fr. James should avoid calling him a traditionalist as he seems to use it as a disparaging term meant in spite.
Furthermore, Fr. James seems to strongly imply that people like Bannon are xenophobes, misogynists and homophobes. Well, where’s the evidence? By the way, the only hint people got Bannon could possibly be racist was from an article with him in it mentioning “the renegade” Jew, but Bannon did not use that term; David Horowitz, who himself is Jewish, used that term in an article he wrote. Horowitz furthermore defended Bannon, saying he personally knew him and there was “no anti-Semitic bone in his body.”
Please stop pandering to the political left and be the priest you were ordained to be, Father.
